Topic: 39 radial vs bias ply

  opinions please!
Growing up I had always heard that the old Fords did not like radial tires...that they created bad road feel. However, some folks suggest that the radials roll much better. I have no issues with lack of authenticity, just safety. As I need 4 new tires, I'd like to get some advice...
Thanks!

If you choose to go with radials, be certain the chassis of your vehicle is in great condition. If the springs are weak, the front end worn, bad shocks, etc. ... you will experience wheel tramping.

I put radials on my 1936 Ford. Ride and handling much better than the bias ply tires I took off. Purchased my tires from Coker... they're not inexpensive, but they are good.

Put radials on my 39 Deluxe coupe in 2009. Drives and handles great. I've owned the car for 46 years and would not go back to bias ply tires except for car show judging.

Beautiful Lincoln, I also use radials on all my cars with the org. rims. Never had any problem & would never go back to bias. Sherrel

No tubes for me. I haven't used a tube since the late 50s. Sherrel
