Is your engine also a '36? The period of '35-'37 was a transitional period. Most of the early intakes were aluminum, but replaced by cast iron during the period, and all the "service replacements" were iron. Most aluminum intakes were unmarked, making identification mostly guesswork. I have an aluminum manifold that I believe is from '37-'39, and the green book isn't much help in confirming that.

You could probably use Super's 37-38, as it will simply mean that your generator will sit lower. To be correct though, the 36 has a higher generator mount. Using a 36 on a 37-38 is a no-no as the fan will hit the radiator header tank. Try placing a "parts wanted" ad in our Club Classified's, and perhaps you will have better luck.

The problem of using a '37-'39 aluminum intake on a '36 is the lower generator positioning ramp it has. This results in the fan blade hitting the top of the coil. If you have a '36 you need the extra ramp height to get the fan to clear the distributor. In'37 Ford solve the problem by using a fan that has an wider mount (extension), to locate the fan blades out and in front of the distributor. The '36 doesn't have enough room between the engine and the radiator to do this. Basically, you are restricted to a '34-'36 intake for a '34-'36 car.
