I don't think anyone makes the cable with the knob attached. The dash knob kits come with the hood pull knob and then it must be epoxied to the end of the cable. You might get lucky and find a nice original cable with the knob already attached. I don't think you can buy the hood pull knob separately from the kit.I may have a spare gray/blue hood pull knob. If you are interested I will look for it. You can send me a private message or leave a message on this post.

Here are cables with and without knobs: https://secure435.hostgator.com/~dlvry40/ufolder/ShowProducts.php?c=1&s=27&g=243&t=1501&tn=

Here is an assortment of knobs you could put on the cables above that have no knobs.: https://secure435.hostgator.com/~dlvry40/ufolder/ShowProducts.php?c=1&s=39&g=322&t=1847&tn=

The way I've heard to put knobs on cables is to heat up the cable end hot enough to melt the hole in the knob as you push the cable in. Then, when it cools, it's there for good. I haven't tried it but it sounds like a secure and easy method.

  how much for the knob?

C&G sells the cables without the knobs for about $20, and also a "universal" cable with a knob for less. Regardless of what you choose, I'd add an "emergency" release by connecting a piece of wire to the latch, and dropping a loop in front of the radiator. Often, the release require some effort, and plastic knobs don't hold. The wire will allow you to get the hood open if the cable breaks. You can use a Visegrips to pull on the cable end, of course, but it is likely you will cause enough damage to make reattachment of the knob difficult. Many vendors only sell the knobs in a package of others. Carpenter used to sell them separately, however. That is where I got mine. They are good quality, but don't always match the dash plastic or other parts.
