Or, if you want one already restored and ready to go, here's one: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1940-FORD-ROTO-MATIC-RADIO-RESTORED-PLAYS-WELL-/260713296580?pt=Vintage_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item3cb3b932c4

If you aren't successful in finding a repair shop, I would be willing to take a crack it. I have a BSEE and used to repair radios over 50 years ago. It would be fun to open up one of those old smoke stained and dusty boxes. Coincidentally, I am in the process of restoring a 1942 Zenith console radio. Got the radio working and now restoring the cabinet. Before I would commit to working on your radio I would need to know the manufacturer and model number to see if I could find a Sam's Service Manual for it. Nothing like staring at a burned resistor and wondering what its value was. Where are you in Florida? I will be shipping a 1934 Ford pickup from Delray Beach around the middle of January.

  It a Zenith Roto Matic.
Thanks

I'll don my radio crusader cape and look for technical resources.

Can you find a model number like 6MF490 and/or Ford Roto-Matic 01A-18805? The closest that I can find is that it was used pre June 1940.

  Dolman, check out this site:

It will save a lot of time in the library

I'm going to pull the radio out next week and check it out on the bench. I'm up in Port Orange, FL
Thanks

I checked that site yesterday and printed the schematic and alignment instructions. The copy is small but appears to be useable. I was not able to find the model in Sam's but sent an email to them asking for the tech set if they have one. When I had had a radio and TV repair business in the late 50's, Sams was my go to source and never let me down.
