My 46 is in excellent mechanical condition and was running fine in all respects. Now all of a sudden when I snap the throttle it stumbles or dies completely.
Looking down the carb throat I see only a very weak
spray from the two jets. I was checking for any vacumm leak on intake manifold, and only thing I did was very carefully tighten the connection at the carb about one eight inch. Can't believe that hurt anything. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Which connection did you tighten, the fuel line or the vacuum line?

Hook up a vacuum gauge to the connection for the windshield wiper and use the following chart to help diagnose the problem.

I tightened the vacuum line Tom.
Thanks very much for the chart - I will hook up and
see what it tells me.
