What brand are the best out there and are the brass inserted ones the best and are they worth the money If they are who sells them Who sell the best cast iron ones (Hydralics on a 34) Want USA made

Check with your local Napa Auto Parts store. They should have ones made in the USA.

Wheel cylinders are readily available from most vendors. I wouldn't spend the extra money on those lined with brass or stainless. It is much less expensive to replace the fluid every couple of years. Just be sure that you use a fresh, unopend container of fluid for the job.

Both Dorman and Raybestos still make wheel cylinders for our cars. Rock Auto has the P/N on their web site, or search this forum for the P/N posted a couple of weeks ago. Tom

I purchased a set of new wheel cylinders for a 48 F-1 and they are wagner brand, always have had good service from them. Looked good except, one was made in ITALY, one in ARGENTINA, and two from the USA. Put silicon fluid in them, the two offshore cylinders leaked, pulled them apart and the bores look like they were honed with a concrete block, honed them smooth and put in new cups and all is fine.

The up side of lined wheel cylinders, is NO pits. and you can rebuild them over and over again,only buying rebuild kits, which are cheap, my 3 cents worth 37RAGTOPMAN an KEEP ON FORDIN,,,,
