MOXIE if you had a picture, you could take it to a UPHOLSTERY SHOP. they can make you one, and it would be new and clean,and you will get many years of use, Also use your grill for measurements. Ragtop, I think Moxie is looking for the metal winterfront that was used on the 36"s. It covers the grille bars(actually attaches to them) and has two sliding doors that you can open and close.

trjford8 I never even thought about the metal one, Just thinking about what would happen to the original grill and paint work, installing and removing means more work and a chance to have problems, I assumed wrong,that's nothing new, more information would make responding easier on all these posts, 37 RAGTOPMAN an KEEP on FORDIN,,,,,!!!!!!

37 Ragtop Man: You know, I'll bet that there was more than one option for winter fronts over many years. Price points, regional differences, all may have factored in. I've seen several different winter fronts and summer "bug fronts" in old photo's of 38 Fords, so I would guess the same would be true of 35's and 36's.

Ragtop, the most inexpensive of all winter fronts was good old newspaper or cardboard. During the depression "necessity was the mother of invention".

I have a NOS metal winter front for an '30s Ford. It completely covers the grille and has a pair of doors the can be opened to adjust the volume of air plow to the radiator. I believe it fits a '36 or '37 Ford. If someone is interested I'll figure out the exact year.

That sounds like a '36 winter front. I don't think they made one for a '37. If you can post a photo I can tell you if it's 36 or not.

Winter front. I pulled it down and I believe it is a 1936 metal winter front. I bought parts from a smmall town Ford dealer about 35 years ago, so this is probably one of the parts. I don't have a 1936 Ford and don't plan on buying one, so it is for sale. I have 3 1930s and 1 1940 Ford and that is all I an handle.

MOXIE There is a 37 WINTER FRONT, on e-bay, which is pretty easy to make and install and does no harm installing just to give you a idea. maybe this one will work for you, the auction #110626687920 and is $29.95 with BUY IT NOW, 12/24/2010 Hope this helps 37RAGTOPMAN
