Topic: 1936 Phaeton Ashtray Mounting Hardware

Can anybody tell me what the mounting hardware to attach the ashtray to the dashboard on a 36 phaeton looks like? My dashboard has tabs with slots in them on each side of the ashtray hole, but I'm missing whatever brackets or clips and fasteners that were used.

On another subject, The phaetons and roadsters are supposed to have a single spring on the glove compartment door. I purchased a reproduction spring but can't figure out how to attach it. Did the phaetons/roadsters have a different spring or am I missing some hardware?

I believe the part is pictured in the 38 hardware book on page 98. 68-701628-B is a small right angle bracket with a hole in one of the sides. Appears one side of the angle with the hole also fits into one of the slots on the rear of the dash and is held in place by a sheet metal screw. Looks like you will need two pieces one for each side.

The description of the tabs for the ash tray are correct. Attached is a photo of the clips from the back side.
