I'm in the last stages of restoring my 36 ford phaeton. The mechanic tells me that he needs a 50lb oil sending unit as the gauge only reads max 50lb. I can only find 80lb ones. I'm running 6 volts. Will the 80lb one work and read correctly?

the 80# unit will not function correctly for replacing the 50# unit. NOS 50# units are very hard to find, it may be easier to find a good used or for a replacement try www.kaiserwillys.com their unit is taller than the 50# unit you seek but should work.
