I purchased a 40 coupe that needed front shocks. I purchased (new shocks) from MAC. I have installed the shocks and now I need to buy either 3" or 4" dog bone links. How do I get the shock arms down from 5" to between the mounting holes to within 3 -4". I have tried using a big pipe wrench to move the arm with no luck.

wanted to know, if the front end is on jack stands, or hanging,with jack stands under the frame, if it is on jack stands under the axle is will be shorter, but then again, maybe the person that rebuilds the shocks, pressed the arms on in the wrong position,??? this is just a thought, my 3 cents worth 37RAGTOPMAN an KEEP on FORDIN,,,,!!!

You should be able to move the shock arms by hand from one limit of travel to the other. If you cannot do this, return the shocks to the vendor. Your shock arms should have the number 10 cast in them and you need 3"links for the front. Tom
