Topic: What year is this V8?

I bought a 1940 Fordor with a more modern flathead in it. The heads are marked Mercury with the letters "EAC" cast into the center. Water outlets are at the front of each head. The engine has a distributor at the right front and a Ford 94 8BA carb. The block does not have a large bellhousing like the 1940 v8 block. What year and size is this engine?
Thanks,
Chris

It is a '49 to '53 engine, 239 cubic inches displacement.

if it is a true MERCURY 49-53 ENGINE, with a 4 inch crank, it will have 255 cubic inches, if standard bore, and have 125 hp
hope this helps 37RAGTOPMAN and KEEP on FORDIN,,,!!!
