I have never heard of a DMV asking for a weight on a non commercial vehicle but they keep coming up with new things. Where are you located? Does the person you are talking with at DMV know what they are doing? Go to http://www.socalefv8.org/ and look under "Cars of the Early Ford V8 Years" go to 1935 and the weight of your car will be in the table (2667 pounds). I am sure you will find slightly different numbers in different sources but this should satisfy the DMV. You might also be able to find the information in the clubs 1935-36 book. The VIN (actually the serial number will only tell you when the engine/transmission assembly passed final inspection at the Rouge. Post you serial number with the last 3 digits XXX'd out and someone will give you the information you need.

Charlie, thanks for the vehicle weight link (nice web site).
I found the serial number info I was looking for in the 1935-36 Book.

Thank you.
