Do the original style woven brake linings have better stoping power than today's molded linings?

The short answer is yes. Modern pads are thin and embedded with metal to last longer, due to environmental laws. The result for us in the hobby is less stopping power. That said, better pads are available from specialty houses. Woven pads are good for mechanical brake cars without floaters. If yours has floaters AND woven pads, you'll bust the windshield with your head. Alan
