Topic: leaking fuel tank

My 52 Customline developed a fuel leak around the fuel tank drain plug, of course after it was filled up. I drained all the fuel and removed the plug, it looks like there is some kind of sealant used around the base of the plug as it has a cup at the base and the threads on the plug only hold the plug in place. My question is what would I use to seal the plug. I find this forum really interesting and informative, it's a must read daily.

I used some liguid teflon pipe fitting dope. The container listed gasoline and kerosene among materials it was compatible or meant for and so far the ethanol hasn't got to it yet.

Thanks for the assistance, got Permatex with Teflon no leaks.
