I am currently restoring a 1953 Ford Sunliner convertible and the strip on the back that holds the convertible top too is pretty much gone. Is there any replacement part or hint as to what to replace it with? It looks like it was hard rubber in which nails/staples were holding the top.

I assume you are referring to the tack strip. We buy ours from LeBaron Bonney (800/221-5408). They sell two types: 1/2" wide and 3/8 thick, and 5/8" by 1/8". If you are unsure of what you need, they will know. They are an excellent source of products and information for your project. Convertibles require considerable replacement of top items. If you are not experienced in putting on a new top, having it done by a pro is highly recommended.
