i have a stock 36 ford deluxe fordor touring sedan, the body identifications plate reads 730 CTS 20227, i checked the front of the early ford v8 rooster book and it said it shoud be 68-73D, can anybody shed some light on this, i was under the impression that the body id plate was original, but maybe not?, thank you, bob

Bob, The V8 book/roster has its own numbering system and is not the same as Ford Motor Company. Your 36 fordor touring sedan has the correct body plate. The body was probably made by Briggs Manufacturing. The 730 indicates Fordor, CTS indicates Touring sedan, and 20227 indicates that it is the 20227th Touring sedan made by Briggs that year.
