The following doesn't answer all your questions, but may be of some help.

"The 1950 Crestliner was a rare Ford. The Crestliner was released on Sunday, July 9, 1950 as Ford's answer to the popular General Motors hardtops. The distinctive new two-tone Sports Sedan had a black basket weave vinyl top and a striking 'Airfoil' paint treatment. It came in Sportsman's Green with a black top and black airpfoil side panels or in Coronation Red with a black top and side panels. Ford said the Crestliner's interior trim resembled that of European sports cars. The 'Crestliner' name appeared in gold die-cast emblems on each front fender. Completely new full wheel disks with the circular depressions painted black were standard, as were fender skirts and twin side view mirrors. A protective and decorative molding of polished stainless steel extended along the bottom edge of the car. Inside the Crestliner had a two-tone instrument panel with special finish and trim treatments, a 4-spoke airplane type steering wheel and special upholstery and carpeting." It listed at $1711.00, and 8,703 were produced. John Gunnell, THE STANDARD CATALOG OF FORD, 4th Ed., (Krause Publications, Iola, WI: 2007), p. 61.

If you purchase the 49-51 Ford restoration manual put out by the V-8 Club it lists all the options available for these cars. The Crestliner was a trim package and most accessories were sold separately by the dealer. You could buy all sorts of accessories and put them on any model. This was profit for the dealer.
The 49-51 book can be purchased on-line on the front page( go to the on-line store in the left menu) of this site or you can purchase it by calling 707-226-5256 from 8:00am-8:00 pm PST.
