I am totallyconfused as to how you remove the vent window from the window molding. I want to strip the metal moldings from all the windows and redo thefinish atone time.

First of all as I am sure you already know, the garnish molding and vent window assembly has to be removed from the door as a unit. Once off the car, there is a small rivet that holds the top of the vent frame and the bottom is held on by a castle nut and cotter pin. It will probably be necessary to grind off the head of the top rivet. Once that is free, the problem is solved. You will of course have to replace the rivet upon reassembly.
