Topic: crab spacer adapter

Anybody know how much oil was actually transmitted through the hole in timing cover into the crab housing? The reason I ask is that the one spacer I have has nice flat machined surface with no hole on the valve cover side, but does have a hole at the right location on the crab housing side. However the oil feed looks to be external with a fitting? photos attached...

I assume you have a crab style distributor or you wouldn't be asking the question. If you look at the back of it there is a hole next to the vacuum brake that lines up with a hole in the later style timing gear cover. The timing gear cover then has an external line to the top of the intake manifold for vacuum. There also is a small hole above the bearing boss that gets oil from the oil being distributed inside the timing gear cover.

Your adapter only has the ports for the vacuum line as there is no oil line direct to the distributor.

I'm 8 hours from the distributor, but it sounds like the fitting replaces the vacuum feed on the old bell distributor...which makes sense. Thanks.
