I am seeking info` for an Aussie friend. he suspects the 47 RHD Coupe may be Canadian? The rear fenders are longer than normal as is the trunk lid.
I/D SG-17-47-10. Engine E19722 59.
thanks in anticipation. Peter Hibbert.
UPDATE...MY FRIEND NOW INFORMS ME IT WAS A USA HAMPSHIRE BUILT L.H.D. ANY ASSISTANCE APPRECIATED.

Peter: While it is possible the car was imported from Canada, it is also likely it was made in Australia. The "down under" Fords are often quite different from the USA variety, such as the "slopers" that have a different rear contour. The longer rear fenders and trunk lid were seen on the common "utes" there that look a great deal like the "business coupe" here in the US which have a single seat and extended trunk space.

Peter, if he has a USA built car it might be to his benefit to buy the V-8 Club's 41-48 book. There's lots of good information in there on those Fords.

Is it possible that the "normal" coupe in the original question is really what Ford called a "Sedan Coupe"? According to the club's V8 Album, Ford produced 80,830 Sedan Coupes in 1947 but only 10,872 Business Coupes. The Business Coupes were characterized by shorter doors, a shorter roof and a longer deck lid. With only 10,872 "short-door" coupes produced in 1947 perhaps very few made it to Australia and are rarity there today.
