dewal, The EFV8CA started small in San Leandro, California in 1963. It quickly grew to proportions that were unmanagable on the local level, and in 1966. the club incorporated. I wasn't a member then, but I believe that there was always judging of some sort at the early meets. The EFV8CA Concourse has evolved to the level of being the most respected of Concourses for the vehicles of the Ford Motor Company 1932-1953. We don't judge cars against each other, but rather, against the standard "As Henry Built Them", and there lies the the main difference between our Concourses and others, that of romoving the subjective factor from judging. A natural result of this difference is that we return the judging sheets to the owners, as of course, justification for deductions is objective. Alan

dewaal, currently club member Hal Bancroft is working on club history to set up a display for the 50th anniversary of the club in 2013. Hal is one of the original members. I suspect he can tell you when they began the judging process. Hal lives in California(bay area) and can be located in the club roster. I'll bet if you give him a call he can give you an answer.

dewaal, I just reviewed some old V-8 Times magazines. In the Nov.-Dec. 1968 issue there is an article on the national meet that was held in Lake Tahoe in Sept. 1968. The article (page 10) states that this was the first year in which cars were point judged at a national meet. The concourse committee chairman was none other than Bob Lenz, one of the club founders.
