Topic: 46-48 rear drum turning

I am having trouble finding someone in my area (western MA) to turn the rear drums of our 46. Does anyone know the part # for the adapter mandrel for a Van Norman drum turner that fits the rear drum. OR, any other tips to get this done? Don't want to remove the hubs from the drums or have a machine shop with a big lathe do it. Thanks
John

We use a KwikWay drum lathe and have no problem with early drums. It is important to use a vibration belt on these drums to get a smooth cut. Usually, places like the franchises see very few, if any, brake drums today. Your best bet is to try the truck shops in your area. They handle all kinds of drums and should be able to do yours.
