Topic: 1936 Club Cabriolet Top Iron Paint

  Hi,
I believe that the top irons on the 1936 Ford Club Cabriolet and Convertible Sedan were painted Tan. Does anyone know what the Tan was called? The paint code/ formula would be very helpful.
Thanks,
Bruce

When I restored my '47 convertible, I tried to find a formula that would match the pieces of color I found on the bows. Finally, I resorted to using the closest thing I could find, a Rust-Oleum "rattle can" called "Sand" #7771. When dried, the color was an almost perfect match. I'm not a big fan of Rust-Oleum, particularly the spray type, but it was the only paint that produced the desired result. I suspect the same shade was used over the years in Ford open cars.

I too believe the same color was used for several years. In 32 the color was called "Golden Beryl" you may want to see if this is very close to what you want. Call Jim Wells 858 909-2150 or email Lauren Matley fixold@hotmail.com
