Topic: 1936 Rumble Seat step bracket

I am in the process of putting a 36 Cabriolet together and need to know if there is supposed to be a bracket on the inside of the right rear fender that supports the step to get into the rumble seat.

I can't speak for a '36 but on a '35 (which should be the same), there isn't a bracket. The pad just bolts to the fender. On the inside of the fender there is a washer that matches the curvature of the fender on one side and provides a flat surface for the nut on the other side. That's it.

there are two steps. one on the tail light bracket, it does have reinforcement bracket on the inside of the fender, I believe Bob Drake and many other vendors sell this bracket. The upper step does not have a inside bracket. It does have special hardware:square washer and square nut as in the photo attached. the attachment hardware has special profiles to match the profile of the fender, I have seen the square washer round.

Rstefani59 If you are so inclined send me your email address. I'm also in the process of restoring a 36 cab, just removing the body from the chassis now. We may be able to help each other and this forum has been very helpful to me. Bruce bhgchico@comcast.net

Where did you get the drawings for this? Is there a book that has this info?

Thanks

The sheet of drawings/photos etc. is my creation. Some images came from The Hardware & Trim book, some from The Benson Ford Archives and some photos from the internet.
