I am restoring a 1940 Standard Cpe and need some help with the dash area.
Does anyone know the Dupont paint number for the standard dash. The old Ditzler number weas DL200085 and called Briarwood Brown.

Also, where can I locate the brown tape that goes between the dash and the windshield garnish moulding?
Many thanks1
Kyle

Roy Nacewicz carries the windshield welting: http://www.fordscript.com/

P.S. The welting comes in black and must be painted to match the dash. For paint codes, check with Jim "Jimmy Chips" Wells at www.AutoColorLibrary.com. He advertises in the V-8 Times.

Also, if you are going for originality, the garnish mouldings had a woodgrain finish.

Hope this helps.

My book calls that color "Thorne Brown". The PPG formula for that color is DDL# 283. 311=10.1, 360=10.1,333=121.2, 358=454.5, 310=404.0. That is an acrylic lacquer formula, and I believe a good auto paint store can decipher these numbers. The color was used from '37-'40, and the chip in the book shows it to be a very dark shade.
