Will the stock wheels on my '53 Ford Sedan handle tubeless radial tires? What size radial replaces the 6:70 x 15 tires now on the car?

There should be no problem with tubeless radials on your '53 if you have the standard correct wheels. The wheels on your car should be 5.5" or 6" wide, don't assume they are one of the above.. measure them. I have seen lots of old cars with mixed wheel sizes and the owner never knew it.
I have used radials on just about every vehicle I have had for the past forty plus years. I currently have radials on my 39 Plym, 40 Buick, 49 Olds 88, 56 T-Bird, 59 Ford F100 and my 66 Ford F250 4 x 4.. The only old car I don't have radials on is my 36 Ford.
P22575R15 should be about the same size as the 670. You should have the alignment adjusted for radial tires and you should keep the tires inflated to at least 32-35 lbs. Many people think radial tires are low pressure tires, they actually require high pressure.

Your wheels are riveted together in the center. Make sure the rivets are sealed properly or you may have a perpetual leak.

more important to tire size in radials is the diameter, I have seen the diameter vary between the tire makers, 6:50 16's equate to a 21575R in a firestone radial for my truck

I would venture the guess that many people are not aware that tubeless tires started to appear on cars in 1953-54. I had a '53 olds 88 in 1954-57 that had tubeless tires. The use of tubeless tires is why many of the manufactures came out with 'safety rims", Chrysler being one of them in 1941, GM followed suit in about '51... The big problem with tubeless tires, bias or radial, is that people do not watch the inflation. On a sharp turn, under inflated tires will roll off of the rim.
