Thinking of purchasing a QuickJack 500Tl to lift my '41 Ford Convertible up a couple of feet, get requainted with a creeper and stop laying on cardboard and banging my head on stuff. For anybody who owns one of these I would appreciate your thoughts on how the lift has worked out for you.

In watching the video, I think it to be a worthy addition to a home garage, but doubt if (at my age) I could be comfortable under it unless the car were then lowered onto solid jackstands. ...Not so in my youth, as all I had back then were bumper jacks. Alan

I had them and they are somewhat cumbersome moving around. At 73 I ended up giving them to my son for his low slung Mustangs. I opted for a 4 post lift

I don't go under any car unless there are jack stands and/or concrete blocks with 4 x 4 wood fillers. (1) In the 1960's a neighbor half-a-block away was doing a 4-wheel brake job using only a bumper jack on bare ground. The car collapsed on his legs and no one was home to hear his cries for help. I heard and used his bumper jack to raise the car. Apparently because he was on bare ground his legs were not broken. (2) In 1960 we had one "Pit" in the service station where I worked and it worked fine except the surrounding steel curb sometimes got in the way. Of course liability concerns eliminated them. I've heard of some who build 'Pits" in their garage floor .... probably cheaper that buying a lift and if need be, building a taller garage. It wouldn't be difficult to add with an existing garage.

I considered one, actually bought it. Never took it out of the box, sold it. I calculated how often I would use it and the fact it only lifted the car a couple inches higher than my floor jack, I just stayed with a conventional floor jack. The extra few minutes it takes to manually jack up the car wasn’t so bad after all. It was to make installing my Columbia easier, we did just fine without it. To add to my previous comment, the same principal, I applied to putting in a four post lift. It didn’t make sense economically for the little bit of time I’d be actually working under the car. TIM CARLIG
