does anyone know the range of ohms of a stock Ford sending unit for the gas gauge? I have a 1941 Ford 3/4 ton truck.

The stock sneding unit will read about 1 ohm when in good condition.

There is not a range as the stock snding unit is not a variable resistor like the replacements being sold. It consists of a bi-metal strip with resistive wire coil wrapped around it and a contact point on the end. The float moves an arm that changes the point gap in relation to the amount of gas. The current flow through the coil heats the bi-metal strip and it bends to open the contacts. The dash gauge has a similar coil to move the needle. The current flow in the circuit is porportional to the amount of gas in the tank.
