Still fighting the light problem. I have no power at the brake light switch, and the parking lights won't turn off unless I remove the fuse. Any ideas would be appreciated

Tell us your vehicle and if you think it has a stock wiring harness.

It's a 36 ford club cabriolet. I believe it is a stock harness

Here is a link to the wiring diagram for your car: http://vanpeltsales.com/FH_web/FH_images/FH_electrical-pics/Flathead_Electrical_wiring1936.jpg

Notice that the stop light power comes directly from the fuse in a correctly wired car. Could you have the parking light and brake lights wires switched? Check the harness near the switch at the base of the steering column, the green wire is for the stop lights and the yellow and black wire is for the parking lights. Make sure that both wires going into a connector are the same color.
