Trumpet horns in my stock 6 volt have stopped working. Chhecked horn relay first, and it appears to be faulty. Found another one among my extra parts. No idea if it is new or used. How can I use a voltmeter to determine if it is good before making the switch? Thank you.

Use a voltmeter to determine if the existing relay is getting voltage to its windings. Check if there is a fuse involved... On the replacement relay, use jumper wires to apply 6 volts to the relay winding to see if it actuates. You can manually operate the relay armature to clean or burnish the contacts...
