Topic: 1949 custom- R&R lower grille trim moulding

has anyone run into this task before? I'm to R&R the lower grille moulding on my '49 custom, both ends of the moulding fit tightly under the verticle ends of the center grille bar. There is spring clip on each end holding the moulding, my thoughts are cutting the clips off from below replacing the moulding without using the end clips? Any dvise would be greatly appreciated. thanks

I have not done this task, but I believe the spring clips can be persuaded to come back through the hole without damage to the clip or the molding.

Get a trim removal tool like these : https://www.amazon.com/Removal-Plastic-Revmoal-Fasteners-Remover/dp/B0BRFSK4SB/ref=asc_df_B0BRFSK4SB/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=693401379483&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=16547647971148894548&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9021427&hvtargid=pla-2188701904698&psc=1&mcid=80707856c7f834c7b950926365996b01&gad_source=1 and slip the end under the molding near the clip and pry up the molding. You may find other clips as you pry up and may have to be pried up a little at a time.
