Looking for recommendation for battery cut off switch which is not the type that clamps onto a battery post.

1946 coupe. 6 volt system. Article in auto magazine regarding instrument gauges advised amp gauge in my era Fords remains "iive" even with ignition off, thus makes for a real fire hazard.

Speedway Motors offers this switch which should work for your installation.

Don't know where they got that idea from? The only switched by ign is temp fuel & oil gauge's. The amp meter as well as headlight switch is constant power all the time. All Ford product amp gauge is inductive no terminals it senses current a discharge or generator charge. If you are afraid of fires I suggest replacing wires eaten by rats, thats no joke. If you really want a Kill switch don't forget you need big fat cables to interupt the ground which is positive to the block.
