Topic: '33 radiator

Being new to the V8 universe, just had a strange occurrence with my new to me '33 Tudor. While driving I heard a noise and moments later saw steam come from under the hood. Problem turned out to be the broken intake manifold bracket holding the generator. This caused the generator to slide into the radiator -- BUMMER!!

Two questions - Is this failure common? What years, if any, used a comparable radiator? I'll see if this one can be repaired but I may have a lead on a '35 as well.

Common only with the '34 passenger car radiator. The detachable brackets on the sides of the radiator for attaching the grille to the radiator are unique to each model year.

The failure of a '33 intake manifold generator mounting isn't common, but not unheard of.

Don't understand reference to '34 radiator. Did you mean '33? What years can be used or adapted/modified?

You asked: "What years, if any, used a comparable radiator?"

3w2 replied: "Common only with the '34 passenger car radiator."

That means only a '33 or '34 radiator will fit your '33.
