Topic: Hydraulic Brake Conversion

Say you've had too many close calls in a '34 Ford 5W coupe trying to accommodate erratic drivers in their modern cars, and wanted to increase your odds of avoiding collision by converting to hydraulic brakes (by the way all spindles show signs of wear and the king pins need to be replaced). What are your recommendations for the hot setup conversion (backing plates/drums/hubs/spindles/etc) that one can install without needing to weld on or cut the frame?

Contact Dave Wilton. His site is www.MTcarproducts.com
He is a Club member, and an expert on brake conversion. It isn't a small job, when done correctly, and the running gear should be restored to top condition, in any case. Your '34 coupe is a fairly light car, so the system has to be designed to accommodate that factor. Most of us have had numerous close cars with idiots. My car was rear ended a couple of years ago by a driver who said he was so interested in he car he forgot to stop! Adding a "third" stoplight is essential. The LED bar on my '47 has saved it more than once.

Contact Richard Lacey. He makes all the components for the conversion to retain your original pedals.
