Hi Guys, I am seeking info to change a regulator, so I can use the car radio. I believe ford recommends an oval shaped unit with number 68-105050. Does anyone have a working one to sell? Or is there an electronic one on the market. Many Thanks, Metalart.

You have regulator on a '37? But even if you do, radios were commonplace back in the day with the stock generator and cutout. I'd try using the radio before changing anything. Here are a couple possibilities. https://www.joesantiqueauto.com/generator-alternator?pagenumber=2

The new V8 Times has a great artucle on cutouts and the optional two-rate regulator (oval shape). They are scarce as hen's teeth. I have one that eventually will go on my deluxe '35 Fordor. This message was edited by ndnchf on 3-11-24 @ 4:59 AM

If your radio has interference from the car, the voltage regulator or two rate cut out will not correct this issue. Look at the various suppression condensers that were offered and the ignition lead resistors. See the club restoration book. Capacitors were used on the ignition coil, the fuel level sender, the dome light. Resistors were installed in line with the plug wires.
