The merc has vulcanized rubber mounts that come off the water pumps. not sure how that would mount to the 35?

If you are using the later Merc motor(8BA style) you used the truck/pickup water pumps from the same year motors. You also use a metal spacer between the pump and the stock 35 rubber biscuit. The spacer can be had from Speedway Motors.

So i will have to put the water pumps on that have the side single hole bracket, in place of the pumps with the the two holes for mounting the vulcanized mounts. Do you know if the engine will line up with the motor mount holes in the frame or will I need to adjust the motor front to back. Will the new pump holes create the correct with to align with the frame. I really appreciate your input. I think in my old age I am regressing. I went from 64 Galaxies to 52 merch's to 35 fords, which I always loved , but know little about. I'm beginning to think my wife was right " are you crazy"! It's fun to converse with people who have been there and done that. Bill

Bill, everything should line up for the mounts. As I recall you will also need to use the pickup oil pan on the motor as it has the rear sump.

Sorry to keep beating this dead horse but if i were to go with the 50 to 51 merc. pumps with the side motor mounts will the pulleys be the correct size (with) (i think it was 5/8 ) and in the correct alignment with the crankshaft pulley ? I guess I mean the center of the pulley to the face of the block? I see a lot of pumps out there with side mount holes like used on the light trucks and the 48 to 52 8rt and I am a little confused. I hear that some of these pumps use a wider belt. These pumps will be going on to a 49 to 53 8ba then into a 35 ford coupe. When I started to look at pumps there were to many options?
