I have 59A block...living in my '32 Ford Roadster. I need to swap out its leaky Fuel Pump. Since it has been too many years since I built the motor and my memory hath failed me.... Do I ONLY need the Fuel Pump to Breather Stand Gasket to swap it out? OR...do I also need the Breather Stand to Intake Gasket? Just don't recall how the pump interacts with the fuel pump rod during installation. Thanks!

You just need the fuel pump gasket unless you’re replacing the stand also.

If you are replacing the fuel pump I would suggest that you remove the fuel pump crank case breather from the engine once the pump is removed. You need to check the mounting stand for flat from mounting bolt hole to hole. Over time the constant pushing up of the fuel pump rod has a tendency to bend the mounting surface. On cars I have worked I have seen as much as 3/16 crown in the mounting surface, a good vise to hold the housing and a large mill file will solve the problem. With regards to this topic how much movement of the push rod should there be. I was having trouble with mine and it measured about 3/16 of an inch of up and down travel. It doesn't seem like much?
