What color are the underside of 47 Fords painted? Body color or some shade of black. My car body is black so I can't tell.

Body color or black ? Could there be exceptions ? My "Monsoon Marron" '47 went on the road about September 1947 and lived in CA; original motor, under 100,000 m, steel running boards; no significant frame or body rust, just dirty; black frame and body undersides; engine compartment appears original black, firewall and concealed door frame areas original body color; some minor bare metal on inner fender splash panels behind rear wheels.
