The number on a transmission does not identify the engine unless it is original to the engine. All you can determine is that your engine is no later than 1948. Alan

Alan, from the number on the transmission, he can't even determine his engine is no later than '48. All he can determine is the transmission is '48. From all we know there could be a Rocket 88 under the hood. Mike "Kube" Kubarth This message was edited by kubes40 on 12-28-23 @ 1:06 PM

Mike, you’re correct. I forgot that the later blocks could mount with the truck bell housing . Alan
