Last year I purchased a 37 coupe. Nice car, 302, c4 trans, a/c, p/w, etc. I've put about 2000 miles on it. I am currently replacing the front straight axle with Mustang II suspension. While I have it apart, I am also interested in replacing the drivetrain with a LS set-up. Has anyone tried this swap? My concern is the physical size of the LS vs sbf. thanks

olelucky Doubt there is anyone here that can help with info about transplanting an LS engine. The V8 Club, and this forum, is populated by people who restore cars to original. We don't even like the thought of putting a modern engine in our old cars. Suggest you go to the website FordBarn.com. Then go to the Jalopy Jornal section, for hot rod builders. Then to their forum, called H.A.M.B. (Hokey Ass Message Board)

I have experience with street rods. Don't change the motor or trans. The Ford motor will run cooler than the Chevy. Frankly I would leave the front end alone and just drive it and have fun.
