I have a 48 Tudor sedan that I'm trying to replace the driver's side window guide. This is the stamped steel piece that the anti-rattle fuzzy channel goes into. The guide is fastened to the inside of the door by 2 screws and is spot-welded or soldered in place. How do I know this? Well, when I saw that it was cracked in half at the bottom, I tried to remove it. Perhaps I should have been a bit less enthusiastic, but as there is very little information available on this topic, I decided to use brute force instead of careful reasoning. Short story, I was able to get the guide out but now I have to replace it or get it fixed. My question is this: has anyone found a replacement for this item, or is it something that I will have to have repaired? Question 2 - how do I get it back in? Do I have to have it welded / soldered back in place along with the screws? I will get some pictures of the guide (channel?) later. Thanks! This message was edited by aflageolle on 10-20-23 @ 4:17 PM
