There should be a cowl code stamped on the cowl or sometimes on the firewall. If you can read the code and post it here, we can help you decipher it. The paint code is in the cowl code. The cowl code should start off with two letters indicating the assembly plant followed by a series of number and letters. Those first two letters would be the same as the 3rd and 4th digits of the serial number.

As Ken said, post your cowl code on this website and we will be able to tell you the color that your car was painted at the factory. The paint code is the sixth digit of the cowl code. If your car was built after May 12, 1950, the paint code will be a letter. If the car was built before that date it will be a number.

The A number on the cowl is the sequence number of the body.
Your A number puts your body in the August of 1950 build. According to the information in Loren Sorensen's Famous Ford Woodies book -- August 1950 A17435-A20287

As for your brake line clips -- they should be painted chassis black.
