If I switch to tube shocks on a 36 ford , do I have to remove the original shocks? Thanks...

Tube shocks on the front of a '36 require the removal of the original lever shocks.
Tube shocks on the rear of a '36 are a little more difficult.
I have tube and lever shocks on the rear of my '36 because I wanted to control body roll and sway. See attached pix.
I have tube only on the front using and aftermarket conversion.
As to what kind of shocks you use, original levers or tube depends on the kind od driving you do. The original Houdaille shocks on the '36 Fords were adjustable, whereas the earlier models were not.

Here's an older thread with a discussion of tube shocks on a '36. Including some pictures of the mounts I used on the rear. See the posts by fenbach on page 2.

Let me know if you can't see the pictures.
