Topic: 1948 convertible question

I am trying to figure out what I am missing on my 48 convertible. I set the old rear arm rest on the car and now I wonder what is supposed to be at the bottom. The arm rest does not reach the floor and leaves an unsightly hole. Anyone know what I am missing? A picture would be great.

  Good morning oldfords.

When you say "rear arm rest", I'm thinking that maybe you mean the entire upholstered rear interior side panel.

See attached photograph.

It's a 1951 Ford convertible interior.

On the right side of the photo, the small protrusion at the bottom of that panel (which measures about 7 1/2 inches by 6 1/4 inches) is the lowest part.

It has a wrap-around shape, extends all the way down to the carpeted floor pan, and is trimmed with darker upholstery in this image.

The '51 version wouldn't be identical, but could this perhaps be what's missing on your '48?
