I would like to place an inline fuel filter and have concerns about cutting the steel fuel line. How have other members done this?

Generally most use a tubing cutter. What are your specific concerns?

Use a common tubing cutter. There are special small ones available if you don't want to detach the line from the frame for the regular size. A simple trick to make the rubber hose connections to the filter more secure is to use a flaring tool on the ends of the cut line to make a small flare. After you insert the steel line into the hose, place the worm gear clamp behind the flare. It isn't quite as good as using a regular hose barb, but makes a better joint that resists leaking fuel or air.

If your concern is losing points on the Concourse, you can install a filter in place of your flex line and then remove it before judging and replace it with the flex line.
