I have searched all over the internet. I cannot find a replacement master cylinder for this 36 Ford model, 68 cabriolet. Does anybody have any recommendations on places that may sell these master cylinders? THANKS!!!!

Yes, '36 Fords were equipped with mechanical brakes. Are there any identification markings on the MC you have? Take the master cylinder you have to NAPA Auto Parts store...

I checked and found one underneath the car on the drivers side. It does really look like the one for the 39.
I got in it last week and out of nowhere the pedal would just go all the way to the floor.

You will have to adjust the brake shoes first. Once you get them adjusted correctly, bleed the brakes. Bleed them starting with the one furthest from the master cylinder, the right rear, then go to the left rear, right front and finally the left front. You may have to go through this process more than once to get all of the air out of the hydraulic system. Use DOT 3 brake fluid available from your local auto parts store. It is much easier if you have someone to help you with the bleeding operation. Once you complete this service, you should have a nice firm high brake pedal.

When applying the breaks, I can look under the car and see some sort of piston/plunger coming out of the M/C
