Topic: Battery location after 12v conversion

I'm planning on converting my 36 3 window coupe to 12 volts. Right now the battery is located under the driver's side floor boards. Any suggestions on a better location?

You can mount it in the trunk. To do this you will need longer battery cables and probably a battery box. The battery boxes are available at your local auto parts store. They come in several sizes and are commonly used to provide power to the engines outboard boats.

Or make it easy on yourself and install an Optima 12v. battery in the existing tray. The Optima can be mounted at an angle and will fit nicely.
I'd just done this in a '34 two weeks ago.

If you install it in the trunk or anywhere else within the cab it should be in a sealed box with a vent to outside the car. When a lead acid battery is being charged it can give off hydrogen or H2S gas. Probably simpler, cheaper and safer to go with an Optima as noted above.
