I attended the Eastern National Meet afew weeks ago (A Very Nice Meet). This gentlemen showed up with a beautifully rastored 50 conv. sporting 16" wheels. When guestioned about the wheels, he said, "oh it was a low milage org. car when I bought it & these wheels were on the car." Then the gentleman who restored the car spoke up amd said, "Oh the 50 Conv.& Crestliners came with 16" wheels. My question is this, "Has anyone ever seen a 16" Crestliner Wheel Cover???

The 49's had 16" wheels and they may have carried into '50. I've never seen 16" Crestline hubcaps. Cecil Goff who is the V-8 Club's advisor for these cars can answer your question. He authored the 49-51 Ford book put out by the V-8 Club.

  Proxie,

The gentleman at the ENM with the 16" wheels was mistaken. On the 50 Ford, 16" wheels were standard on the Deluxe models, 15" were an option. 15" were standard on all Custom Deluxe models, including all Convertibles and all Crestliners. There are no 16" Crestliner hubcaps.
