I have the Drake kit without the sway bar on my '39 p/u. No issues. Simple install.

I installed the kit on a '40 coupe and it worked fine for me. You may need to move the upper shock mounts inboard a little to clear the exhaust.

I had the complete rear axle out doing a gear change and while it was out, I drilled the holes and trimmed the rear cross member as the instructions stated. Just as Trjford8 says, when I put everything back together the exhaust is right in the way of the shock. Now I either have to change the upper shock mount location or have the exhaust modified.

I got real and front tube shocks on my '36. I don't know any difference. I going to take them off and reinstall the original ones.

Thanks flatfoot I have the original shocks that are worn out, And the brackets to convert to Lovejoy shocks I bought from a club member years ago.(anyone interested?) The lever shocks are expensive..... So if you didn't notice a difference, maybe tube shocks are the way to go for a non original car
