Topic: Scam Alert

I posted an add in the "Classifieds" looking for bumpers for my 39 Deluxe Convertible Coupe and was contacted by "Brokermills@gmail.com". I asked for a price and pictures they replied with a price of $240 for the pair and wanted to ship them out right away. They also claimed to attach pictures that for some reason didn't attach. I was at work, in a hurry and desperate for bumpers so I sent the money via Venmo. Anyway, it was all a scam. No photos or bumpers ever came, if fact they asked for more money claiming postage was higher than they thought.

My apologies if Brokermills@gmail.com is a legit member who's been hacked.

Needless to say, I still need bumpers for the car in the attached photos. My adds been refreshed in the classifieds.

I doubt that brokermills is a legit member. These creeps roam all the sites including the Fordbarn, Craigslist, etc looking to scam people. They also steal photos from other sites to send the photos to the victim. This scumbag apparently couldn't find photos to send you. Always get a real name and check your roster to see if they are a member and get a phone # to call them directly and talk with them. Check with Venmo to see if there is any recourse to get a refund?

I had the same experience with a parts wanted ad on this site. Be careful!

Thanks for the support and advice. Hopefully I won't fall for it again.
